Disney Darlins

Going back to Magic Kingdom for the 3rd time...we liked it there - alot!
Our resort
We did it! We took the plunge and took ourselves to Disney World this past week. What a wonderful time it was! We once thought it was too early to take Kensley to Disney, but after talking to friends who took their young children, we decided to take her along and enjoy ourselves and make our own memories.
We went to Magic Kingdom three times, Epcot twice, seeing only Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios once, but fully, on those days. It was a true blast for all three of us. We were star-struck seeing the characters, posing with them, and bubbling throughout the parks. Kensley couldn't have been a better behaved little trooper. I think we asked a good deal from her, but making sure she got to rest, eat, and potty at the necessary times surely paid off!
Thankfully, we got a wonderful rate on the Disney Resorts, staying in Port Orleans Riverfront. Wouldn't you know that we MISSED their Mardi Gras parade?!?! Also while we were there, the winners of the Superbowl, The Saints, paraded about on Monday while we were also at Magic Kingdom...we didn't see that parade either - we were there to experience DISNEY!!!
Over the course of the week, we took about 500 pictures - which is alot for us. However, about 150 didn't make the cut due to poor lighting, goofy looks or awkward body parts. Mike compiled a great movie that I will post as soon as it has met all of the editing expectations, but in the meantime, please enjoy the few shots we took as singles.

Rolling on the Floor Laughing

I am so thankful some of you read our blog. It makes it worth it to know you are following. One said follower just emailed me this in support of our parenting the "No gum till you're 5" rule. It takes a village to raise a child - and we appreciate Aunt Judy's support! Lou, Perhaps this photo will help Kensley understand why she can't have gum till she's five! J I am hoping it will keep the begging at bay for a bit. The other funny thing is that Kensley has seen me doing this in my yoga and weight training classes.

Kensley-isms, Take II

Sleeping on her pillow from Uncle Rob
Sleeping in her big girl bed. How sweeeeet she is when she sleeps!
Getting ready for church
Raggamuffin in combat boots. Awesome!
Little Miss Picasso with her new little desk
I promised I would post more as it came back to me. I am still sitting here thinking about how funny Kensley can be and the instances aren't scarce! My memory is apparently a thing of the past.
  • Mike flew solo last night with his daddy duties and he told me about this: They were in Publix last night. It was raining cats and dogs and Kensley had her raincoat on when a booty-shakin' song came on. Mike said that, between the produce and dairy kiosks, Kensley tossed open her raincoat like a flasher and proceeded to shake her booty to the song. She is impulsive and definitely dances to the beat of her own little drum.
  • On a sweet, sweet note, I went to wake Kensley up from her nap. As I laid my head on her pillow, my hair fell onto my face. Kensley gently pushed my hair back out of my face and gave me the sweetest (stinky breath) kiss on my cheek. awwwww.
  • Backseat driver: This is a gene passed down from generations on her mother's side. We were on our way to the Y and traffic stopped abruptly. Kensley immediately chimed in, "Whoooaaaaa, Mommy! You be safe. Go very gently. Ok, Mommy? You need to drive gently, riiiiiiiight, Mommy?" Mike also reported that a dog was chasing a cat across the street last night which also warranted a sudden stop. This time all Kensley could must was an, "ERRRRRRRRTTT!"
  • I found a steal on Craigslist for a little, plastic pupil desk and Kensley loooooves it, which makes my teaching heart so happy. She loves to sit and color or paint or look at her new Highlights Magazine.
  • Recently, Miss Animated has exuded her disdain for things with a simply scrunch of her nose, Elvis lip, and and short little, "Ew."
  • We have told Kenley that she can't have gum until she is 5. Whenever she thinks she wants gum she tells us, "I am 5 years old. I can have gum. PLEASE! May I have some gum, please?!?!" She hasn't won that battle yet.
  • Kensley looooooves Kenny Chesney. She can hear him on the radio and shout, "Mommy!!! That's Kenny!" I am hoping he reads this blog and will invite us for a concert on him. :) I don't know which of the three of us would be more ecstatic!

I will repost to this as I remember (ha!) more - or am reminded of more.

Kensley-isms

About two and a half minutes ago, I was going to post funny things that Kensley has been saying or doing. They roll off-the-cuff so easily and frequently, I would be remissed not to share the ones I can actually remember. In the meantime, another Kensley moment arose. She had just finished going potty (whoop! whoop!) as I finished washing my hands. I walked out of her bathroom and I didn't see her! I called for Kensley and she said she needed to find her "poof" from the purple room. At that point, I looked at the TV where The Wiggles were playing and realized she needed her fairy dress, which is poofy. I think her "poof" also stems from the fairy wand that came with it - the one she uses to "poof" us into something. Please enjoy the video that came from this scenario. I will have to sit and think of more Kensley-isms, now. I have totally gone blank trying to think of her peculiarities and hilarity amidst the current entertainment.
