A Growing Personality - Humor?

The news was on while I was waiting for the Y&R and the Ambien commercial came on where they are using a rooster right now. Kensley looooooves chickens and roosters. She got excited and surprised and told me there was a "woo-tah" on TV. I confirmed her announcement and kept cleaning up her lunch plate. I noticed her saying "tiddy" and a bounce out of the corner of my eye. I looked over and saw her bouncing up and down with her hands over her mouth saying "tiddy," bounce, bounce, "tiddy," bounce, bounce. She was play-giggling (hands over her mouth and bouncing) telling me that the rooster on TV was SILLY! A little sense of humor is clearly emerging.

Happy Easter!

Daddy bought Kensley Kindereggs last time he was in Germany just for Easter!
...and they all have TOYS inside the CHOCOLATE egg! What more is there to want as a toddler?!
Kensley gave Daddy a kiss in their Sunday best. [love this!]
The best lookin' blondes I'll ever love so much!
We had a wonderful day just hanging as the 4 of us today. We went to church this morning and then hung out here the rest of the day. Kensley and Libby got to hunt Easter Eggs at our house last weekend. It was just too cold and windy here to do it today. Libby was a PRO, although the eggs really don't last much longer after Libby has found them. Kensley is happy to find an egg and put it in her basket to carry around for hours.

Spring Break 2009

Nanna and Pop made the pilgrimage to spend Spring Break with us. Uncle Wob and Aunt Nay also visited for the weekend. It was a packed house - and that's how we like it! Hours after Nanna and Pop arrived, we went to Kensley's first Easter Egg Hunt. I wouldn't let Mike and Pop teach Kensley how to hunt for the eggs. I thought it should be a sink-or-swim activity. I am happy to report Kensley is a swimmer. She quickly picked up her alotted 10 eggs and made her way back inside to the bouncy castle. Kensley liked looking at the Easter Bunny, but she wasn't so sure about a picture with her, so we snuck the bunny in the background.
Sunday, the YMCA held an egg hunt. Kensley got three. The "big kids" came over to the tot side and hunted their eggs, so the toddlers didn't fare as well. Kensley wasn't fazed, though. She got to see her friend and play on the playground.
Monday was a rainy day, so we hopped over to Philly to enjoy the Please Touch Museum and a Geno's Cheesesteak. It was packed, but definitely loads of fun!
Alice in Wonderland exhibit
Tea Time!
Flight Exhibit - Pop and Daddy were big helpers
Tuesday was really cold, but we skipped back over to PA to visit Bushkill Falls. It claims to be the Niagara of PA. I haven't been to Niagara, but I can say that this was super-high for me and just spectacular. It was a truly gorgeous hike.
Wednesday, we went back to Lancaster to have lunch at Dienner's and then off to Hershey's Chocolate World. It was an infusion of gluttony and chocolate! I am happy to report the economy has been invigorated by Nanna and Pop's chocolate purchases. ;)
Mike and Pop went golfing Thursday and Friday while Nanna and I hung out at home and made sure Kensley had a semblance of a routine. She hadn't had a "real" nap since Saturday, although she carried on remarkably well throughout the week's activities. We did, however, manage a visit to the Diner and to our favorite Italian Restaurant, even if we didn't really visit anyplace else.
Sadly, Pop and Nanna are back home in the grind. It was a huge time together and lots of fun places.

Public Service Announcement from Ben Franklin

In light of our recent trip to the Franklin, here are some wise words from the man himself (in an email from my dad): Wine and Water To my friends who enjoy a glass of wine.. . and those who don't. As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria. In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E.. coli) - bacteria found in feces. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop. However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whisky or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting. Remember:Water = Poop Wine = Health Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of [something else]. There is no need to thank me for this valuable information: I'm doing it as a public service.

Snip, Snip!

I have been saying for a while that I wanted to cut Kensley's hair...well, I finally did it. It was getting so long, that even fixed, it looked stringy. I couldn't handle that. She's now sporting shoulder-length hair. Sure, she will have longer hair, but it needs to look healthy to do that and getting it all (close to) one length is a step in the right direction!
