Project Demolition
Kensley strew toys from one end of the living room to the other yesterday. I was so overwhelmed that I could only take pictures.
"Nose" Not for Me!
Kensley calls snow "nose." She isn't confused. She just has those sounds shuffled. She isn't confused, either about how it is cold and how she doesn't want it on her if she has to go out in it. Kensley doesn't think snow is for playing. I am fairly confident that she will like her next powdery white ground covering much better in the months and years to come ;)
Here are pictures of Kensley not playing in the snow yesterday.

Opera with Elmo and Daddy
Over Christmas, Grammy and Poppy got Kensley an Abby Cadabby video. Now Abby and Elmo are her favorite things to say. Kensley didn't know much about Elmo or Abby as characters on TV before. She doesn't watch TV other than the first hour of the Today Show or Wiggles - on occasion. In the video, Daddy is helping out with Kensley while I cook. They are watching Elmo sing. Watch all the way to the end to get a glimpse of Kensley's impersonation of opera. Come to think of it, I don't know who enjoyed this movie more: Daddy or Kensley!?
How I Eat
We are working - slowly - on Kensley's eating. She is a moody eater, so we are thankful when she has a phase of eating well. On the weeks that she eludes healthy eating, she will have grilled cheese, graham or animal crackers, just starchy foods. We are thankful that she has an obsession for sweet potatoes "tay-tah", bananas "nana" and "appo" (apples) regardless of her mood.
Kensley got this pink plate for Christmas, and it has helped immensely to keep plates on the table. She even does well in restaurants, now. However, the spoon is almost a prop rather than a vehicle in which to transport food. We definitely remind her to use her spoon, but sometimes eating gets in the way of that!!!
