New Tricks

Kensley is growing more each day. Almost gone are the three-month clothes it seemed she would never grow into. At this particular moment, Kensley fits into three-six month clothes, and some six-month onesies. She is very long. "That blonde hair" (as everyone seems to call it) is still growing long and wiley and hasn't seemed to turn loose. (If that were the case, she would TOTALLY be Mike's twin!)
Aside from physical growth, Kensley just "talks" up a storm and shows a great deal of emotion when she notices people. She is very social when she is safely in the arms of Mama or Daddy. She isn't quite sure what to think of others holding her, until she has had a chance to warm up to them. I am assured this is a healthy quality, although perplexing to two mostly outgoing parents. Kensley has shown an interest in toys and as soon as she gives them the stare-down, they go directly into her mouth for a taste-test. It is so cute to see her exploring her world!
Is she rolling over yet? Well, not really. Kensley rolls to her side. I believe that, since she doesn't love tummy time, she isn't willing to roll the other quarter of the way to be on her tummy. She will, however, roll and push so she can situate her body to see something of interest. Kensley loves to stand. She looks like a mini-toddler when she does this!
We have put Kensley in her booster highchair (we don't have a traditional highchair) when Mike and I eat. Kensley sits and watches and participates in the conversation until we are mostly done. She seems to like her seat, but has no desire to give up her current nourishment for table food.

A Week Full of Meetings

Kensley went to ATL for a week to surprise her Poppy for his retirement party. It worked well, because he was surely surprised. While we were "home," Kenlsey got to meet her cousins and my wedding attendants' children, William and Lauren Zion and Raleigh Collum. Kensley with her cousins, Laura Catherine (top), Ethan, Parker, and Savannah.
Just the girl cousins, minus Lane.
The picture is blurry...but you can definitely make out the noses!
Jennifer, William (2 1/2), and Lauren Zion (5 mos.) with Kensley and me.
Kensley with Raleigh Collum (Pamela's little girl, who is 6 weeks younger nearly to the minute!)

Help Out!

A friend sent this message out and I thought I would share it: "Five for Fighting, is generously donating at least $0.49 to Autism Speaks each time this video is viewed. The funding goes toward research studies to help find a cure. When you have a moment, please visit the link below to watch the video and pass it along. They are aiming for 10,000 hits, but hopefully we can help them to surpass this goal." http://www.whatkindofworlddoyouwant.com/videos/view/id/408214

Time Flies!

Kensley had her three month pictures taken today and did very well. She was pleasant and easy-going the entire time (especially when she got to take her clothes off)! I can't believe that three months ago she was just getting here. We love to watch her grow and change each day. We never get tired of loving on her. Kensley is just as sweet in person as she is in the photos.
