How I Eat

We are working - slowly - on Kensley's eating. She is a moody eater, so we are thankful when she has a phase of eating well. On the weeks that she eludes healthy eating, she will have grilled cheese, graham or animal crackers, just starchy foods. We are thankful that she has an obsession for sweet potatoes "tay-tah", bananas "nana" and "appo" (apples) regardless of her mood. Kensley got this pink plate for Christmas, and it has helped immensely to keep plates on the table. She even does well in restaurants, now. However, the spoon is almost a prop rather than a vehicle in which to transport food. We definitely remind her to use her spoon, but sometimes eating gets in the way of that!!!

All in a Day's Play

Uncle Waaahb gave this tent market to Kensley for Christmas and she just loves it! She plays in it, around it, pushes it - you name it. Here, Kensley was exercising her "me time." She just played on her own, chilled, and had a little milk. It's fun to watch her grow up!

Baby, It's Cold Outside!

UGH! I do not like the cold! Kensley doesn't seem that bothered by it, however. She is a GREAT sport about getting coats and hats on and loves it when we all get into our cold weather garb. In this pic, Kensley has on a hat, poofy jacket, fleece jacket and shirt underneath all that! She thought it was funny to wear a hat in the car!

All in a Day's Work

It goes without saying that Capt. Sullenberger, his copilot, Jeffrey Skiles and flight attendants on US Airways flight 1549 were miracle workers last Thursday. I absolutely believe they were embraced by the Ultimate Miracle Worker. The passengers and crew worked extraordinarily well with one another to deliver every single person from a certain, freezing death. What pride I have for them - not a single one I know - and their strength and bravery. Here, a friend sent a link of a cute little song that was created for the US Airways crew. Enjoy!

Random Kensley's

Alot goes on in 6 weeks when you have a little person. There are no weekends, per se, but each day is surely something new. Using her new plate, fork, and spoon. Will the absolute MESS ever end?!?!

The mere fact that Kensley slowed down enough to even notice the TV is enough...that she snuggled Uncle Waahb's old bear and laid down to watch cartoons is unbelievable!

While we stayed with Nanna and Pop, we were able to go to the YMCA on a military perk. Kensley met some new friends and enjoyed her caregiver, Ms. Ginnie - aka Nini. She had been very attached to Ms. Cheryl when we went to our other gym in NJ, so I was concerned about how she would accept someone new. After a few days, Kensley was excited about seeing "Nini" too! She also made a couple of projects along the way!Pop - the ultimate inventor of fun and fun things. This is Nanna's cart she rolls to school.

Kensley learned how to do Ring Around the Roses. She really likes the "'asij, asij,' we all fall down" (but has to be reminded to fall down!) She is REALLY good at Itsy, Bitsy Spider with all of the hand motions to boot. Super cute to see in the rear-view mirror. Speaking of music, Kensley is more into it than ever. She loves to sing and hum and dance....it's running through her veins!

Kensley has many more discernable words, now. She talks nonstop - true to her makeup. We are becoming quite good at communicating with one another. My favorites are "pwease/pease," "yes" (and occasional yes mah, which I expect to become a regular), "mo," "cheese." She will try to say anything.

Kensley and Libby have always co-existed nicely. Hoss, Libby's brother, soaked up allllll of the attention Kensley was willing to dish out. I would "hear" quiet and peek around a corner to see Kensley petting Hoss ever-so-gently or her snuggling with him.
